Birding Tours, NZ. We are experienced and passionate birders,
with unrivalled, up-to-the-minute knowledge of New Zealand’s
birding scene.
We
know New Zealand and its birds inside out, with excellent trip lists,
including most of the endemics. We have sites for all the landbirds,
know our shorebirds, and have extensive pelagic seabirding experience
(which includes our rediscovery of the ‘extinct’ New
Zealand Storm-petrel in 2003). On top of this we enjoy having fun
and showing off the splendour of New Zealand, its scenery, and other
wildlife. Who wouldn't?
We
specialise in small groups and offer scheduled birding tours or
can tailor a tour to your needs, just let us know what you want.

New Zealand's birdwatching
specialists.We
offer guiding throughout New Zealand, for a day or two or a comprehensive
tour of the country and its unique birdlife. Our tours are designed
to find as many species as possible including most of our endemics.
The experience we have gained leading tours over the last seven
years helps us locate many of our rare and elusive species. We pride
ourselves on our ability to find the birds and believe our trip
lists confirm this.
While
birding is our main passion we also like to share our knowledge
of the rest of our fauna and flora, our history and of course our
spectacular scenery. To ensure you get the most from your trip we
restrict our tours to small groups. This allows us to get off the
beaten track and away from the crowds. Another feature of our tours
is the use of Home and Farmstay accommodation, which gives you the
opportunity to sample New Zealand's renowned hospitality and stay
in some of our most picturesque settings. We take deep pleasure
in making your New Zealand tour special!
We
run several scheduled tours each year and we can customize a private
tour for you at affordable prices. We cater our tours to suit any
fitness level. Itineraries can be shortened, lengthened or amended
to suit any particular interests or requirements.

I have been a keen
bird-watcher and field botanist for 35 years.
My main areas of
birding experience are Scotland and Southern England, Balearic
Islands, Corsica, Britanny, Eastern France, Camargue, NE Spain,
Eastern Andalucia, Western Greece, Corfu, Thassos, Kos, Cyprus,
New Zealand (North Island), Canada (Southern Ontario), USA (Nebraska)
and Kenya (Nairobi area).
I specialise in unhurried
bird-watching without excessive travelling, suited to a 50+ age
group. All my guided walks include the identification of flora
and insect species and the encouragement of photography at every
stage.
